[en] The Gay Family was one of the most outstanding black gospel groups to emerge in Chicago in the '50s and '6os ; it was also one of the most underrated groups. Bad luck, jealousy, ... resulted in a lot of autoproduced records with poor distribution; very few recordings were available untill this massive reissue : 27 tracks ( 1948- 1977)
