Abstract :
[en] The A. studies the phenomenon of the civic elections of a patron saint in the Spanish Low Countries, after the process definition by the Congregation of Rites in 1630. She takes an interest mainly in the ceremonial dimensions of these consecrations that give rise to solemnities noticeable by their dramaturgy. In a war context, these elections answer to the anxiety by an overactive energy resulted in a luxuriant and opulent scenery. Life’s highlights of cities in crisis, they prove an exacerbate expressivity and a strong inventiveness. Their study must excite the curiosity of the historian who questions the mechanisms of the solennisation of the Tridentine cult, the part given to the emotion in the expression of the Sacred and the processes invented to create a strong affective adhesion to the message that these ceremonies suggest. Are particularly studied the cases of Lille (1634), Aire-sur-la-Lys (1636), Armentières (1664), Luxembourg (1666 and 1678), Stadtkyll (1679) and Baasen (1682).
[fr] L’A. étudie le phénomène d’élections civiques d’un saint patron dans les Pays-Bas espagnols, après la définition du processus par la Congrégation des Rites en 1630. Elle s’intéresse toutefois principalement aux dimensions cérémonielles de ces consécrations, occasion de solennités d’une remarquable dramaturgie. Dans un contexte de guerre, ces élections répondent à l’angoisse par une énergie débordante traduite par un décor luxuriant et opulent. Moments forts de la vie de cités en crise, elles démontrent une expressivité exacerbée et une puissante inventivité. Leur étude attentive doit intéresser l’historien qui interroge les mécanismes de la solennisation du culte tridentin, de la place accordée à l’émotion dans l’expression du sacré et des procédés mis en place pour générer une forte adhésion affective au message que ces cérémonies suggèrent. Sont particulièrement envisagés les cas de Lille (1634), Aire-sur-la-Lys (1636), Armentières (1664), Luxembourg (1666 et 1678), Stadtkyll (1679) et Baasen (1682).
[it] L’A. studia il fenomeno d’elezioni civiche di un san patrono nei Paesi Bassi spagnoli, dopo la definizione dell’iter dalla Congregazione dei Riti in 1630. S’interessa soprattutto alle dimensioni cerimoniali di queste consacrazioni, opportunità di solennità notevoli dalla loro drammaturgia. In un ambiente di guerra, queste elezioni rispondono all’angoscia da un’energia traboccante tradotta da uno scenario lussureggiante e opulento. Momenti forti della vita delle città in crisi, dimostrano un’espressività esacerbata e una inventiva potente . Il loro studio deve interessare lo storico che interroga i meccanismi della solennizzazione del culto tridentino, del posto attribuito all’emotività nell’espressione del sacro e dei procedimenti immaginati per produrre una forte adesione affettiva al messaggio che queste cerimonie suggeriscono. Sono particolarmente esaminati i casi di Lille (1634), Aire-sur-la-Lys (1636), Armentières (1664), Luxembourg (1666 e 1678), Stadtkyll (1679) e Baasen (1682).
