[en] The GHER 3D OGCM has been applied to the study of the general circulation of the Western Mediterranean. Taking into account inflows and outflows through the Straits and the atmospheric forcings, the model visualizes the horizontal and vertical motions of water masses and their month to month variability. The results of the basin scale provides boundary conditions for a finer grid nested model of the Gulf of Lion and of the Rhone rivers's plume.
