Abstract :
[en] Through Thomas Vinterberg’s movie, Festen, we wished to introduce the reader in caring for adults, victims of sexual abuse in childhood.
The film highlights a continuum of suffering and of personal experiences often lived by victims who have not been able to reveal their abuse in childhood. We invite the reader to open some significant doors, our wish being to bring to light the range of consequences of such abuse and the need for tactfulness in the care and treatment of victims.
