Self service stores; Europe; Magasins en libre-service
Abstract :
[en] The recent evolution of self service stores and shopping centres in Europe can initially be summed up by three main quantitative factors : an almost general advance of super and hypermarkets, a decline in small self service units and the multiplying of shopping centres. However, the impact of these new kinds of sales outlets is by no means the same in every country. Furthermore there have been many variations in the concept of shopping centre since 1975.
