Abstract :

[en] The aim of this second review is to summarize data on the duration of gastric emptying and on the transit time in the gastrointestinal tract of healthy dogs. An overview of the investigation techniques is also given. The incorporation of fibres in the diet is one of many other factors which influence the mechanisms of emptying in the gastrointestinal tract. The effect of dietary fibres is also discussed in other monogastric species
