[en] Drawing on research carried out with migrant women of different profiles and life histories in urban contexts in Italy and Belgium, this presentation will, on the one hand, explore the methodological implications of studying migration-related issues through the lens of food practices (including supply, cooking and eating habits). It will also explore the analytical opportunities offered by this approach, particularly in relation to how unpacking food practices can reveal embodied processes of subjectivation, as well as forms of gendered (cultural, social, and political) participation in the local environments in which women live.
