Abstract :
[en] My main goal is to show how contemporary literature and visual arts such as photography get us to re-activate the colonial/ postcolonial/ minority archive, whether this archive does, in fact, already exist, as in tin-trunk archives, or community-led counter-archives, or whether this archive needs to be recreated, supplemented, and imagined around, as in, say, the fragmentary archives relating to Indenture, Slavery or colonization.
More specifically, my project ‘Forensic Forms’ is about how selected literary forms and specific regimes of visuality pull you in and implicate you so as to rethink, not only the relation between state power and the archive but more importantly, the relationship between state violence, implication and the very possibility of perception and memorialization.
