[en] The strengthening of criminal groups and the consolidation of criminal governance limit the capacity of civil society organisations to carry out peacebuilding initiatives. Indeed, the transformation of relations between the state, criminal groups, civil society organisations and communities in contexts of organised crime requires more in-depth analysis in order to adapt peace strategies to these new dynamics. This problem is not limited to Colombia, but is also evident in several countries in Latin America and Africa, underscoring the need to move beyond overly localised approaches and towards comparative and generalisable analytical frameworks.
