Abstract :
[en] This systematic literature review (SLR) explores the nuanced relationship between gender, (organizational) democracy and citizenship, which is often overshadowed by conventional male-centric narratives. We highlight the complexity of the relation between these concepts through the anchoring of gender inequalities and androcentric conceptualisation. Our interdisciplinary approach, which includes political science, management and gender studies, also reveals the interdependence and the permeability of various spheres of life, from political participation and workplace dynamics to private and family life. Finally, our findings demonstrate the need to integrate gender and feminist perspectives to challenge and redefine egalitarian ideals of democracy and citizenship, and to provide a more inclusive and equitable framework for democratic practices.
