Abstract :
[en] This presentation outlines how the University of Liège Library has implemented the LibCal platform from Springshare to enhance student services and optimise the management of physical and human resources. Since 2019, various modules—Spaces, Seats, Events, and, more recently, Appointments—have been progressively adopted and customised under the unified 'Book it' interface. The system supports autonomous, user-friendly reservation of study spaces, event registration, and librarian consultations. When possible, feedback from students has informed continuous adjustments, with a focus on usability, mobile access, and booking integrity. LibCal has proved instrumental in supporting space allocation during peak times, facilitating hybrid training sessions, and coordinating personalised research assistance. Future developments aim to consolidate services, improve user experience further, and expand interdepartmental collaborations. This case study provides insights into best practices and challenges encountered in deploying a modular, scalable tool to support academic library services.
