[en] The great question regarding the renewable energy transition revolves around how to accelerate and successfully implement the shift from traditional, fossil-based energy sources to renewable and sustainable alternatives. The transition is crucial for addressing climate change, reducing environmental impact, and ensuring a more sustainable future. At our latitude, since the availability of the sun energy is modulated by seasons, it is desirable to develop new processes, akin nature, that could transform the sun energy in summer and store it for wintertime. Therefore, the idea is to capture CO2 in the building, collect and transform rain water into hydrogen, then convert the two into synthetic fuel. Developing new materials with adsorbent and catalyst that can be integrated in the ventilation system of buildings constitutes the first phase of this project to capture the CO2. The second phase is about modeling the building technical systems, and demonstrate the balance between energy production/storage in summer, and energy consumption in winter.
