Undocumented migrants, activism, arts, cultural citizenship, political participation
Abstract :
[en] This presentation explores how undocumented migrants in Liège engage in socio-political participation through artistic and cultural practices. Based on fieldwork with the collective "La Voix des Sans-Papiers," it highlights how art becomes a space for expression, resistance, and visibility. Artistic creation transforms experiences of exclusion into messages that challenge dominant narratives. The city of Liège is presented as a historical and symbolic site of hospitality and resistance. Art is shown to foster cultural citizenship and act as a political tool for empowerment and voice.
