[en] The impact of social pensions on public finances is the focus of this chapter. In the next section, we position the topic of social pensions in the broader context of other social assistance and insurance programs. The third section discusses the policy options that governments have with respect to the financing of such social pension programs. The final section summarizes the key conclusions.
