[en] This dataset provides meteorological, satellite, and demographic data for Algiers, the capital of Algeria, covering the summer months (June-July-August) from 2001 to 2023. It features hourly air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, and wet bulb temperature, along with records of days above 35°C collected and organized from four national weather stations located in Algiers. The dataset also includes satellite bands obtained from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) to map Land Surface Temperature (LST), Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), Normalized Difference Built-up Index (NDBI), and Modified Normalized Difference Water Index (MNDWI), with demographic data involving population density, female population, population under 15 years old, above 65 years old and care bed availability for each municipality gathered and re-organized from the Algerian national statistics office. This resource allows the evaluation of heat health risks and thermal comfort over Algiers.
