[en] The Japanese sword, famous for its aesthetic aspects, is also representative of the complementary ethic values of Shintoism, Buddhism and Confucianism. This talk will give an introduction into the Japanese sword, its social and religious importance and the evolution of sword practice during the different periods of Japanese history.
