[en] Although religion and spirituality are a major part of actual society, research focusing on their role in the desistance process are rare in Europe. Therefore, the aim of this study is to understand how these two components can help people to stop offending. A qualitative methodology was used, involving semi-structured interviews and thematic analysis of the narratives. Our study enables us to consider religion and spirituality as supports for desistance, endorsing prosocial behaviour or identity development. Links are also made between these two concepts and the presence of other factors involved in desistance.
