Abstract :
[en] In terms of digital governance, the European Union (EU) is tending to assert an alternative path to the American and Chinese models, representing a new building block in the progressive digital empowerment of the Union. This research attempts to sketch out its contours through an analysis of the Digital Markets Act (DMA), which came into force on May 2, 2023. This regulation aims to re-establish a level playing field for competition between platforms in order to enable the growth of European companies providing services similar to the American and Chinese "Big Tech". Based on a literature review as well as an analysis of official EU documents, this study shows that while the Union is lagging behind in terms of technological innovation, it is now trying to promote a digital governance model aligned with its values and interests.
