This special issue originates in an international workshop held on 9 and 10 May 2019 at the University of Liège (Belgium) on “The syntagmatic properties of complementation patterns: Accommodating lexical and grammatical uses of CTP-clauses”. The workshop was convened by An Van linden (Université de Liège), Lieselotte Brems (Université de Liège), Kristin Davidse (KU Leuven) and Lieven Vandelanotte (Université de Namur). It was made possible thanks to generous funding granted by the Fund for Scientific Research (F.R.S.–FNRS), the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts and research unit Lilith of the Université de Liège, as well as grants FSR-S-SH-17/15, awarded to An Van linden, and FSR-S-SH-CDR-19/09, awarded to Lieselotte Brems, by the research council of the Université de Liège. We also acknowledge support from the research council of KU Leuven through the ‘Beyond the clause’ grant (C14/18/034).
