[fr] Thomas Erastus, professeur de médecin à Heidelberg, entretînt une
correspondance concernant le traitement de l’hydropisie et des maladies de
la rate et du foie avec Peter Monau, originaire de Breslau. Celui-ci transmit
des informations sur le recours au chalybs, c’est-à-dire à l’acier, au Croate
Andreas Dudith, attaché à l’empereur Ferdinand Ier puis excommunié.
D’autres personnalités, telles que Johannes Crato von Krafftheim, font
partie d’une constellation médicale qui serait à explorer, en comparaison
avec la manière dont les mêmes maladies étaient soignées en Italie et en
Espagne à la Renaissance. [en] homas Erastus, professor at Heidelberg, maintained a correspondence
concerning the treatment of dropsy and the diseases of the spleen and the liver
with Peter Monau, born in Breslau. The latter transmitted information on the
use of chalybs, that is to say steel, to the Croat Andreas Dudith, attached to the
emperor Ferdinand I and excommunicated. Other important figures belong to
a medical constellation which should be explored, in comparison with the way
