Abstract :
[en] Climate change in Africa is a significant concern for rural livelihoods. Besides collecting and modeling meteorological indicators evolution, which is necessary to draw climatic situations, the analysis of climate perception informs adaptation strategies and policies. Understanding perceptions requires localized studies to underline what is essential for households and consider those identified items in adaptation strategies. However, adaptation strategies need to consider factors that interfere with such perceptions. This article analyses the perception of rural households (n = 167) on climate change. It compares them to climate and socioeconomic data to determine the factors influencing these perceptions in the Cameroonian highlands. Interviews were conducted with rural households in three different villages in the west of Cameroon, where gridded climatic data were analyzed to assess recent climatic trends.
