[en] The processes and neural bases underlying episodic memory have been extensively studied at the individual level. Psychology and cognitive neuroscience recently started to consider the social function of memory by which we share memories with other people. We conducted experiments to measure the similarity of memories for personal or public events across individuals at the behavioral and brain level. Moreover, we assessed whether this inter-personal similarity of memories is influenced by aging and by the national identity of participants.
