Abstract :
[en] Research about tendinopathy management has long focused on the tendon itself. Nonetheless, several theoretical models including the nervous system and motor control have been developed in past years with the aim of improving treatment strategies. Among these models, reeducation programs associated with an external stimulation have been recently described but their relevance needs to be confirmed by further investigation. The main objectives of this literature review are (1) to define the current state of the relationship between tendinopathies and the nervous system according to pre-existing data, (2) to establish the role of the nervous system in the pathophysiology of tendinopathies and (3) to assess the clinical impact of treatment strategies integrating the nervous system in the management of tendinopathies.
