Abstract :
[en] The authors point out the existence of tuberous roots in Rhoicissus tridentata, a fact already known for the other genera of Vitaceae occuring in tropical Africa. The abormal secondary structure observed in the tuberous roots is similar to those described for diverse stems of Vitaceae. The probable role of these organs in the water economy of the plant is compared with the existence of water reservoirs in other creepers of the Vitaceae
