Abstract :
[en] The simultaneous magnetisation of two cylindrical bulk YBCO superconductors (diameter 15.7 mm, height 8.8 mm) closely spaced is investigated experimentally. The applied magnetic field is parallel to the c-axis of one of them, while the other has its c-axis directed at different angles with the first. Results are compared to the trapped field above an isolated sample. Experiments are carried out at 65 K and 77 K both in field cooled under 2.5 T and in zero field cooled under 7 T. Experimental trapped field data are compared to analytical calculations assuming fully magnetized superconductors. For a centre-to-centre distance equal to twice the sample height, the presence of the second sample is found not to alter the current distribution inside the first. Consequently, the contribution of both samples adds up, thus increasing the magnetic flux density between them.
