Abstract :
[en] In this paper we review the contributions of the main international assessments on numeracy in the frame of our current society demands. Globalization, the rise of big data, IoT, 5G networks, and social media, are creating a new plethora of competences that individuals will need in order to avoid exclusion. National governments have been concerned about how adults are ready in terms of numeracy skills to face such challenges, hence they participated in international comparative assessment surveys for the last three decades. What are the new challenges that major assessment surveys will need to respond to in the near future, to cope with these new situations?
