Abstract :
[en] This paper discussed the digital encoding of ancient Egyptian texts and focuses on the so-called 'control characters' in Unicode, which allow positioning signs next to one another, above one another, or in other spatial arrangements. To critically assess the coverage of the nine control characters currently available in Unicode, monumental inscriptions from the Old Kingdom, the New Kingdom, and the Ptolemaic era are investigated
