Abstract :
[en] Witchbroom traces the colonial curse on the Caribbean island of Kairi (Trinidad) as pieced together at the hand of the history of his own planter family by Lavren, hermaphrodite storyteller, the last of the Monagas de los Macajuelos. In the best of carnival traditions he transgresses boundaries, upsets hierarchies and confuses actual an imaginary.
