Abstract :
[en] The rates of movement of several hundred pebbles in the high valley of Chambeyron have been measured for a number of years. The different factors affecting the rate of movement of blocks have been measured or estimated i.e. the slope, the depth to which the blocks are embedded, their length, the humidity at the time of observation, the potential humidity, the importance of the vegetation cover and the granulometry. Statistical treatment by computer allows the importance of each factor in the observed movements to be assessed.
