[en] Is an ethnography among people to whom the researcher does not feel any spontaneous sympathy possible ? In this article, I come back to the apprehensions which have been an important feature of my beginning into the field of hunting and the negotiation of my place among the hunters. I aim to show how anxieties, negative assumptions, emotions encountered in the field and the management of misunderstandings played an important part in the progressive construction of a productive relationship with the hunters. [fr] Une ethnographie auprès d’acteurs vis-à-vis desquels le chercheur n’éprouve aucune sympathie spontanée est-elle possible ? Dans cet article, je reviens sur les appréhensions qui ont caractérisé mon entrée sur le terrain de la chasse et la négociation de ma place parmi les chasseurs. Je montre comment les inquiétudes, les a priori négatifs, les émotions rencontrées sur le terrain ainsi que la gestion des malentendus ont joué un rôle important dans la construction progressive d’une relation productive aux enquêtés.
