[en] In the field of pediatric oncology, I noticed a lack of repeated-measures designs in pediatric oncology assessing the relationship between specific personality risk factors and parental adjustment. Prior studies had utilized mainly cross-sectional designs (studies that analyze data at a specific point in time), and few of them had examined the role of personality in psychological adjustment among parents of a childhood cancer survivor. This case study provides an overview of my experience conducting a quantitative study using a repeated-measures design with parents of a childhood cancer survivor. In this case study, I outline methodological strengths and challenges of this type of study. I also highlight some recommendations for conducting quantitative studies with parents of a childhood cancer survivor.
