[en] Discusses 2 questions that have continually preoccupied psychologists: (1) whether or not psychology is a science with methods resembling those of physics, chemistry, and biology; and (2) whether or not there is a definitive characteristic that sets psychology apart from other disciplines. Various positions regarding these 2 questions are reviewed, and a new perspective that views psychology as 1 of many disciplines studying specific aspects of human evolution is presented
