Abstract :
[en] Recently, studies have been reported dealing with non-radiative energy transfer between two chemically different polymers labeled with donor and acceptor chromophores, respectively. As the mutual approach of polymer-bound chromophores depends on the extent to which the chains of the different polymers are able to interpenetrate, the efficiency of energy transfer is a sensitive indicator of polymer miscibility, on a scale of a few nms. This work aims at characterizing the miscibility of s. PMMA/PVC blends by this investigation technique.
