Abstract :
[fr] Sarotherodon melanotheron est un tilapia estuarien d'eau saumâtre qui a formé une population isolée (landlocked) dans le lac artificiel d'Ayamé après la construction du barrage en 1959. Depuis sa présence dans le lac, l'espèce s'est progressivement adaptée à un mileu d'eau douce, spécialement au plan de la reproduction (ovules plus gros, fécondité plus élevée). En quelques décennies S. melanotheron a connu un très fort accroissement démographique est est devenu une importante ressource halieutique. Dans ce contexte, il est apparu intéressant 'entreprendre une étude des performances de l'espèce en conditions d'élevage contrôlé en cages flottantes et de procéder à une comparaison entre les populations d'élevage et celles du lac.
