Salmo trutta trutta, sea trout; extinction of anadromous salmonids,; Belgian River Meuse
Abstract :
[en] On June 10, 1983, four specimens of salmonids identified as sea trout (Salmo trutta trutta) were caught by electrofishing in the Berwinne stream, near its confluence into the River Meuse at the Belgian-Dutch border about 300 km far from the North Sea. This is the first record of this species in Belgian waters since its probable extinction around 1940-1945
