Measures to prevent violent extremism tend to be analysed without taking into account the political, social and cultural contexts in which they are developed. Yet they represent responses to phenomena of violence whose forms and determinants are part of a local context. It therefore seems essential to assess these differences by analyzing the diversity of approaches to this phenomenon through the experience of Belgium, France and Canada.
