[en] In southern Benin, the intensification of recent deforestation through agriculture and urbanization is causing that fallows and plantations occupy more land than forests. Thus, these agro-ecosystems are to be that could replace forest scraps. To test the conservatory value of these environments birds were used as a biological indicator based on an Analysis of the
Multiple Correspondences (ACM) and an Ascending Hierarchical Classification (ACH). 9 groups
Ecological surveys of birds distributed in the different types of fallows and plantations have been identified. The fallows concentrate a high proportion of the avifauna in these alternative forest habitats. These results show that to conserve bird biodiversity in these forest replacement habitats, fallows under plantations or evolved are essential.
