Abstract :
[en] At the transition between Antiquity and Middle Ages, Mayen wares, present as jugs and pots in the graves, testified imports form the Eifel region. Short after, they disappeared and were no longer attested during the 6th c. when regional productions were at their height. From the end of the 7th c. until the beginning of 10th c., new Eifel products were traded into Wallonia/Mosan region. These are mainly high-fired ceramics (Ware MD by M. Redknap) but more rarely also red painted ceramics (Ware MFP) and polished potteries (Ware MB/C). Quantities vary according to the nature of the site: very present in urban centres as well as in abbatial context, they are found only in small quantities in rural settlements. The questions related to their chronology, the means of distribution and the contexts of discovery will be discussed in this paper.
