Abstract :
[en] Models of wealth transmission often express the wealth of a given generation as that of the previous generation multiplied by some random terms. These account for the variability of capital returns, earnings abilities, family size, life horizons, health, and so on. The purpose of this letter is to show that unlike other terms, a variable family size implies a particular statistical treatment to the extent that it modifies the cohort structure.
