[en] In this article, we present a Building Information Modeler essential for creating, viewing and evaluating the performance of a modular building project, based on a digital model. First, we explain our approach, called "by components" and its central notion of "catalog", capable of supporting the virtualization of the construction system in the modeler. Secondly, we describe the software architecture established for this original modeller, based on a dual-purpose data model: representing the catalogs of components and allowing the encoding of a specific project within the software.
Then, our article will introduce the products obtained, in terms of operating geometric and semantic information from the catalog components. In particular, it will show how, depending on the driving activity types, these productions can be generated under different operating formats. Finally, the article will introduce the limits of this Building Information Modeler and the future opportunities provided by its extensibility.
