Abstract :
[en] Immunological effects on CBA mice grafted with Sarcoma J were studied after tumour irradiation by gamma rays. Rejection rate of a second sarcoma graft was used as in vivo measure of anti-tumour immunity.Radiotherapy boosts the auto-immune reaction of the host against its growing tumour. Cured animals reject the test graft proportionnally to the curative dose. As compared to surgery, high doses of radiations induce a better anti-tumour immunity. An active specific immunotherapy markedly increases the tumour response to radiotherapy. Moreover the therapeutic association confers to the cured animals a maximum degree of specific immunity.
