[en] This article investigates the ideological and cultural context of the collaboration between the Flemish romantic nationalist novelist Hendrik Conscience and the French speaking historian Octave Delepierre, in order to reconstruct the literary system in Belgium in the first decade following the Belgian declaration of independence.
