[en] Abstract: Site specific amplification effects are experimentally determined on the basis of weak ground motions and related simulations are generally realised in the visco-elastic domain since the mechanical behaviour can be considered as linear. on the other hand, strong shaking caused by large earthquakes often induces non-linear effects, ie modification of the ground motion behaviour due to increasing strains and the appearance of plasticity.
