[en] This study develops a method classifying retail spaces through geometry. It attempts to objectify quantitatively several criterions (usually based on empirical observation) which define retail supply. The method developed shows that it is possible to characterize different commercial forms by using relatively simple indicators. In order to apply this method, this study drawn upon a database of 20,000 stores geolocalised and gathered by shopping areas all over Wallonia. This paper is divided into three main points: the construction of indicators, their compilation and the identification of a classification of retail spaces.
