[en] The German Book Prize can be considered an important international success
driver for its laureates. Their Foreign Rights sales are much higher than those
of other prize-winning books. This is due to the remarkable economic and

generates. The following article wants to show how these factors favour the
transfer of German contemporary fiction into French on the basis of Julia
Franck’s novel Die Mittagsfrau.
