Abstract :
[en] Acute coronary syndromes are a major health care problem which remains associated with high rates of mortality, myocardial infarction and rehospitalisation after hospital discharge for acute treatment. The general practitioner has a critical role in the management of these patients. Physicians have to ensure an adequate control of all coronary risk factors. Systematic use of statines and aspirin is recommended. Also, the use of clopidogrel, fibrates, beta blockers and ACE inhibitors should be considered in some circumstances. Conversely, hormone replacement therapy in women, antioxydants and nitrates in the absence of angina are ineffective.
