[en] There has been in the last decade an increase in collective mobilization around labour in China. A growing body of scholarship shows that, in addition to the increase in the number of protests, these social movements have often also grown in scale and that protesters have become increasingly capable of articulating collective interests within their struggles. This presentation reviews these trends through a combination of scholarly literature review and ethnographic work.
