[es] A partir de la noción de «traducción» entendida en un sentido amplio –como sistema de transformaciones entre textos con la intermediación de un mensajero, el «traductor»–, se exploran los procedimientos tópicos y escriturarios de la novela Paradiso, de José Lezama Lima. Tales procedimientos se vinculan con las definiciones que da Lezama del barroco americano en sus ensayos y con el esencialismo barroco con el que Alejo Carpentier caracteriza la geografía y la historia latinoamericanas.
[en] Following the notion of «translation» understood in a broad sense –as a system of transformations between texts mediated by a messenger, the «translator»–, this article explores the topical and writerly procedures of the novel Paradiso by José Lezama Lima. These procedures are linked to the definitions provided by Lezama in his essays on the American Baroque, and with the Baroque essentialism used by Alejo Carpentier to characterize the geography and history of Latin America.
