Abstract :
[en] Shoshin is a fulminating form of cardiac beriberi developing in a few hours in a young alcoholic. Without specific treatment it evulers, toward death by cardiogenic shock and metabolic acidosis. Treatment by thiamine and alkalinisation permits a spectacular and fast recovery.
