Abstract :
[en] This collection of 21 papers (either written in or translated into French) presents the state of the art for translation at the beginning of the 1990s. Some examine the position of translators in institutions, others the relation between translators and publishers, or available CAT tools, or the qualms and joys of literary translating. Two final contributions, by Peter Newmark and Jean-René Ladmiral, address the translator's responsibility today. Cartoons by Pierre Kroll greatly add to the volume's attraction.
